Two similar types of eyeglass holders
Eyeglasses are usually expensive investment for most individuals that they need proper protection. It is quite a common phenomenon that the spectacles may get lost and be sat on. In this case, they will probably be damaged. The most common way to protect a pair of eyeglasses is to store it in an eyeglass case. Placing eyeglasses in a case can protect them from nearly all external sources of damage. There are two similar types of eyeglass holders.
The first type of eyeglass holders is exactly called eyeglass chains or leashes. They can hold the eyeglasses with two traditional silicone-style ends that easily slide over the arms or temples of the eyeglasses. Being free, a pair of eyeglasses can be held by a chain hanging on the neck. This helps users save time and gain convenience. Nowadays, eyeglass leashes or chains usually come in beaded styles. Both big and clunk beads are popularly used. Attached to eyeglass holder ends, these chains have different colors and styles. In addition, some people also suggest the eyeglass leashes can be first attached to a small split ring, which will then be attached to the eyeglass holder ends. This way allows the leach to move more naturally as the wearer moves. In some cases, eyeglass leashes as a type of eyeglass holders are also called eyeglass cords.
Another type of eyeglass holders is formally called eyeglass necklace. These eyeglass holders come in a different design. When the spectacles are being used, an eyeglass necklace hangs normally on the neck. And the glasses can be held by the necklace using a round ring after being removed. The ring will usually hold one of the temples, rather than the center bridge. These eyeglass holders are really as convenient as eyeglass leashes.
