Flowering Tea-pompous Gourmet for Tea Drinkers

The origin of flowering tea dates back to China where the tea is produced in south western pat of Yunnan province. Flowering teas, better known as blooming teas are handmade tea bowls prepared by combining of gourmet tea along with flowers like aromatic flowers. The gourmet tea leaf is flattened and sewn with cotton threads to form a ball like structure. Some may experiment with shape of that of a Mushroom or a simple cone. Sometimes they are scented with floral blossoms to bring an aromatic effect and it undergoes some oxidation and rigorous drying process before the same is ready for use.

The flowering tea is then dipped into a tea pot filled with lukewarm water and the tea gradually unfurls into a floral structure as the viewers witness an ethereal experience. The tea is then allowed to steep for a few minutes and then decanted to be served to drinkers.
It is really necessary to decant the gourmet within a few minutes after the leaves unfurl. If allowed to steep longer, the same is likely to affect the taste badly and spoil the whole effort.
Flowering tea is usually prepared in a glass teapot or in a transparent surface to as to give a better view to the viewers. Popular varieties of flowers in the process include Chrysanthemum, Lily, Sweet Olive, Marigold, Peony and more. While Jasmine has a role to play in nourishing kidney, lungs and liver, Lily has positive effects on our nervous system. The method of preparing the gourmet is similar to that of Jasmine tea. All you need is a pot of hot boiling water in a glass tea pot. Pour one tea at a time in the container and the bud would unfold into a beautiful floral bouquet. However, unlike Jasmine Pu Erh variety, the gourmet would last for about a month. You may serve the tea with cold water as and when required.
