Groomsmen gifts are traditionally given either before the rehearsal dinner, before the bachelor party or during a special outing where all the guys are giving the groom-to-be his last hurrah. Liquor flasks are especially smart choices when it comes to groomsmen gift giving.

The cool thing about a liquor flask as a groomsmen gift is this: most guys never think to buy one for themselves. It's one of those gifts that when you get it you're like "This is awesome. I know I will use this so many times over the years!" Not only will your groomsmen love the fun factor of a flask, they will appreciate its usefulness. Engraving nicknames can be quite funny and will turn the flask into a sentimental keepsake. One tip to remember in terms of engraving is the difference between regular initials and a monogram. Initials are three letters all engraved the same size which signify the first, middle and last name of the recipient. A monogram is engraving where the three letters are not done in the same size. The first letter and last letter are regular size and the middle letter is larger and more prominent. The order for a monogram is first name letter, last name letter and then the middle name letter.

Liquor flasks come in many varieties and shapes. You can go for standard stainless steel which is the most economical or select pewter which is a bit more expensive. Stainless steel flasks can have patterns stamped on them or have leather wrapping in different colors. Pewter flasks can be shaped into many designs such as a fish, horseshoe, heart or binoculars. Some flasks even have your favorite sports team logo on them. There is a flask for every personality and preference.

One of the most popular is the basic 8 ounce stainless steel flask. It is priced low and it has a good capacity and no frills look about it. Leather wrap flasks are nice since they feel a little warmer in your hand than metal and they don't show fingerprints. Leather flasks usually come in black or brown, but crazy colors like purple, red, green and blue are available too. In general, men like the 6 or 8 ounce sizes and women go for smaller capacity flasks such as 4 or 5 ounce. "Slim" flasks are usually for women and wider, bigger flasks are for the guys.
